Surf’s Up was a movie that was shot like a documentary but in animated style. There is awareness of the camera, and it is a coming-of-age story about what it takes to be a surfer. The surfer in the movie is actually a penguin that makes it more funny. There are several animals in the movie, all of which can talk, and this is an essential feature of most movies for kids.

Children are astonished by the great amount of whimsy and fun that a surfing animal can produce, especially because Happy Feet came out sometime before it. Penguins doing exercise and activity must have been the in thing that year. There were so many active penguin movies that children were avid about owning penguin stuffed animals for awhile thereafter. Surf’s Up featured the voice talents of Shia LaBeouf, Jeff Bridges, Zooey Deschanel, Jon Heder, James Woods, and more.

There are so many talented voice actors that this movie is brimming over the top with humor, a little pathos, and a lot of excellent comedy through and through. It received a 7 rating out of 10, compared to other animated movies which usually rank in the 5 category. This movie received a lot of awards – 1 Oscar nomination, 2 wins, and another 15 nominations. It branched several genres, appealing to a wide category of people in the animation, comedy, family, and sport genres. This probably one of the most amusing animated sports movies you’ll ever see. The director, Ash Brannon and Chris Buck, and screenwriters, Don Rhymer and Ash Brannon, do a great job of perfecting this movie animation extravaganza.

This movie follows a penguin surfing championship and just how far one little penguin named Maverick will go to win. It’s not normal to see penguins surfing because we expect them to be cold at the North Pole, but this movie does a good job of making the unbelievable, well, believable. A lot of the humor revolves around the fact that penguins are doing human things, and this is quite funny. It’s a quick movie that’s colorful, bright, and fun, and it does a great job of ensuring that audiences and families walk away happy. A lot of the humor is offbeat, and you wouldn’t necessarily find it in an animated movie if it weren’t for the expert screenwriting

This movie appeals to teenagers as well as children and adults, whereas most animated movies just appeal to children and adults. There is a lot in this movie about surfing documentaries, and this movie can feel like a surfing documentary at times. There is so much to do with the sport of surfing, and the style of directing is documentarian so it seems like you’re watching something out of a special interest section sports documentary on surfing.
